Job summary

Sibanye Stillwater SA Region is seeking a seasoned Mining/Engineering Training Manager to lead and oversee the Technical Training discipline within the Operations. The role focuses on designing discipline structures, driving performance, and ensuring safety and transformation across the business unit.

The ideal candidate brings a Bachelor’s or Advanced Diploma in Engineering with a Mine Manager’s certificate and at least 10 years in related roles, including 3 in a managerial capacity, and must

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in Engineering (NQF7) is required.
• Mine Managers certificate of competence or Government certificate of competence.
• Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a management role.
• Medical fitness to work in the mining environment.
• Valid driver’s license if applicable; clear security screening record.

Responsibilities

• Design Operations’ discipline structure to support the organisational mandate.
• Review and approve labour plans around operational targets.
• Provide leadership and drive high performance.
• Manage performance and development of reporting staff.
• Set discipline targets aligned with organisational goals.
• Drive transformation, safety, and culture within the operation.
• Oversee financial management, budgeting and cost control.
• Source, contract and negotiate with service providers.
• Develop and manage Technical Training programs and measures.
• Assess business requirements for Training needs and delivery.
• Ensure QA, SETA and ISO compliance for Training.
