About the Role

Our client, a major force in the Mining industry, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Mining Operations Manager to oversee their surface operations in the vicinity of Soweto, Gauteng . This leadership role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective management of all mining activities, including production, planning, maintenance, and personnel management. You will drive operational excellence, implement best practices, and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive leadership experience in mining operations, a strong understanding of surface mining techniques, and a proven ability to manage large teams and complex budgets. • A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in mining operations management, with a significant focus on surface mining.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large operational teams and complex projects.
• In-depth knowledge of surface mining methods, equipment, and technologies.
• Strong understanding of mine planning, safety management, and environmental compliance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated financial acumen and experience managing large operational budgets.
• Ability to reside or commute effectively to the operational area near Soweto .
