Job summary

Placements24 in Mpumalanga seeks an Industrial Hygiene and Safety Specialist near Nelspruit to lead safety programs. You will identify, evaluate and control hazards, monitor environments and ensure compliance with HSE regulations in a mining/manufacturing setting.

The role requires 4+ years in IH and safety, a related degree, and CIH is a plus. Collaboration with management and operations will drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in IH, EHS, OSH, Chemistry or related field.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in industrial hygiene and safety, preferably mining/manufacturing.
• Proficiency in hazard identification, risk assessment and exposure monitoring.
• Strong knowledge of SA OHS Act and regulations.
• Experience with monitoring equipment and data analysis.
• GHS and SDS management knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage industrial hygiene programs to identify, assess and control hazards.
• Conduct workplace monitoring for airborne contaminants and noise.
• Perform risk assessments and job hazard analyses for operations.
• Recommend engineering, administrative controls and PPE as needed.
• Ensure compliance with SA health and safety regulations and standards.
• Investigate incidents and prepare corrective action reports.
• Deliver safety training to employees at all levels.
