Job summary

Marvel Placement Consultants is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for a leading mining operation in Gauteng. The role focuses on strategic leadership of the engineering function, ensuring safe, reliable plant operation and compliance with MHSA and statutory requirements.

The candidate will oversee maintenance and asset reliability, manage SIB projects, budgets, and multi-disciplinary teams, and collaborate with production to optimize efficiency and performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• GCC Mines & Works certification is essential.
• Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng registration would be advantageous.
• 8–10 years' engineering experience, mining experience preferred.
• Experience in Engineering Management and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership across the engineering function.
• Ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of plant and infrastructure.
• Develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with objectives.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, legislation and policies.
• Maintain accountability for engineering governance and statutory compliance.
• Oversee maintenance programmes and asset reliability initiatives.
• Drive project delivery for SIB initiatives and major projects.
• Promote safety culture and MHSA compliance across activities.
• Manage budgets, resources and contractor relationships.
• Lead, mentor and develop engineering personnel.
