Job summary

Sibanye-Stillwater is seeking an MRO professional to observe and measure stope excavations, manage width control and geological mapping, and to capture data in digital systems according to standards.

The role requires COM Basic Sampling and Geology certificates and at least 2 years of MRO Grade 4 experience in Mining Technical Services, with proficiency in MRM software. You will work within the underground mining environment and support safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• COM Basic Sampling Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Stoping Control.
• Physical stope width measurements.
• Monitor and report underground conditions.
• Monitor mining standards and compliance with regards to mining method and conditions.
• Capture measured results in MRM Common Logon.
• Coaching of production teams on best cut parameters, drilling discipline and control lines.
• Measuring current sweepings and development ends during monthly measuring cycles.
• Measuring waste mined and scalped areas throughout the month.
• Plotting information gathered Geological Mappings – Stope & Development.
• Accurately identify rock types, reef facies-types, lithological succession, and geological structures.
• Mapping of underground geological features and lithologies.
• Capturing and plotting of mapped data in MineRPCAD.

• Print mappings and discuss observations with the Geologist and MRO for feedback to mining.
• Report distribution
• Print standard reporting sheets and communicate with Line Supervision.
• Resolve or escape evaluation/geological queries.
• Maintain permission to enter books (stop notes/ safety)
• Stope width control and Geo mapping coverage (tracking sheets)
• Audit trails (waiting place & coaching reports (PTO's) & cross tramming audits)
