About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly competent Mineral Processing Engineer to optimize and enhance their processing plant operations near Mossel Bay . This role is essential for maximizing the recovery of valuable minerals while ensuring operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and environmental compliance. You will be responsible for process design, troubleshooting, and implementing improvements across various stages of mineral treatment, including comminution, flotation, and refining. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of metallurgical principles within the mining context . Key Responsibilities

• Optimize existing mineral processing circuits to improve recovery rates, throughput, and product quality.
• Troubleshoot operational issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Conduct pilot plant testing and feasibility studies for new process technologies or modifications.
• Develop and maintain process simulation models to predict performance and evaluate design changes.
• Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards within the processing plant.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and research teams to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement in mineral processing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral processing, with hands-on experience in operations and plant design.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, HSC Chemistry) and data analysis tools.
• Solid understanding of metallurgical principles, including comminution, flotation, leaching, and gravity separation.
• Experience in managing projects related to plant upgrades or new installations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a plant environment near Mossel Bay.
