Placements24 is seeking a Mine Metallurgist to join the processing plant team near Soweto. You will oversee metallurgical operations across crushing, grinding, flotation and leaching, driving recovery optimization and process efficiency in a large mineral processing operation.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Metallurgy or related field with at least five years in metallurgical processing within mining. You will analyze data, implement improvements, and ensure safety and environmental standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of metallurgical processing experience in mining.
• Strong understanding of mineral processing principles and unit operations.
• Experience with metallurgical accounting and reporting.

• Excellent problem-solving skills in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize metallurgical processes to maximize recovery and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize metallurgical processes to maximize mineral recovery and product quality.

• Monitor key metallurgical performance indicators (KPIs) and troubleshoot operational deviations.
• Develop and implement strategies for improving process efficiency, reducing reagent consumption, and minimizing environmental impact.

• Ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards within the metallurgical operations.
