Placements24 is searching for a dedicated Mine Safety Officer to champion health and safety at operations near Richards Bay. You will conduct inspections, risk assessments, training and incident investigations to protect workers and ensure regulatory compliance.

Role demands at least 3 years in mining safety, MHSA knowledge, and strong communication skills. ISO 4501 Lead Auditor qualification is a plus. The position offers development within a major mining operation.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Safety Officer in mining or heavy industry.
• Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and related regulations.
• ISO 4501 Lead Auditor certification is advantageous.
• Strong communication, reporting and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, often under pressure.
