Ideal candidates have 6+ years in mine planning and design, with open-pit or underground experience, and strong analytical and project-management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine planning and design.
• Proficiency with Deswik, Vulcan, or MineSight.
• Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment and economics.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders in Centurion.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive long-term mine plans, considering geological, geotechnical, and economic factors.
• Create detailed short-term production plans, including blast designs, drilling patterns, and material movement schedules.
• Perform economic evaluations and feasibility studies for new mining projects or mine plan modifications.
• Collaborate with geological, engineering, and operations teams to ensure effective plan implementation.
• Utilize mine planning software for modeling, scheduling, and optimization.
• Monitor mine performance against plan and implement corrective actions as necessary.
