Job summary

DRA Projects in Woodmead, Johannesburg, is seeking a Mining Planner to join the Mining team and help develop mine designs, schedules, and studies.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

The role also involves fieldwork, data analysis, and preparing technical reports to support project decisions.

Qualifications

• Mining or related degree required.
• 3–5 years in mine scheduling and planning.
• Experience with mine design software.

Responsibilities

• Support the mining design team to ensure designs meet client standards and legislation.
• Review and assist with mine design to maintain quality and accuracy.
• Provide mining input for feasibility studies and techno-economic evaluations.
• Participate in mine design and planning, including pit design, scheduling, and infrastructure development.
• Analyze geological and engineering data to support project decisions.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams on mining projects.
• Assist in preparing project cost estimates and mining solutions.
• Utilize mine planning software to create models and simulations.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project documentation.
• Conduct site visits and fieldwork to support delivery.
• Keep abreast of mining technologies and developments.
