Placements24 is seeking a strategic Mine Planner for our client in Vereeniging, Gauteng. The role focuses on developing short-term and long-term mine plans to optimize ore extraction, reduce costs, and ensure safety and environmental compliance.

You will collaborate with geological, engineering, and production teams, leveraging Deswik, Vulcan, or MinePlan to generate integrated schedules and layouts, while adapting plans to changing conditions on site.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine planning and production.
• Proficiency in mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, or MinePlan.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret geological and survey data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed mine production schedules for short-term and long-term horizons.
• Create mine layouts, haul road designs, and waste dump plans.
• Perform volumetric calculations and reconcile plans with actual production.
• Utilize mine planning software to generate schedules, visualize mine designs, and conduct scenario analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to ensure practical and safe implementation of plans.
• Monitor progress against plans and update schedules as required due to changing conditions.

About the Role
