Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years in open-pit mining operations, with at least 5 years in supervision or management.
• Experience managing large mobile mining fleets and maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of mine planning software, production reporting systems, and operational KPIs.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Safety, environmental regulations, and best practices in mining.
• Willingness to work on-site in Tembisa and adhere to schedules.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational plans to achieve production targets and quality standards.
• Oversee surface mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and mine infrastructure maintenance.
• Manage and motivate a diverse team of operational staff, supervisors, and engineers, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Monitor operational performance, analyze key metrics, and implement corrective actions to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
• Collaborate with mine planning, geology, and engineering departments to ensure integrated mine management.
• Manage operational budgets, control expenditures, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Oversee the maintenance and optimal utilization of mining equipment and fleet.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of short-term and long-term mine planning strategies.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to ensure safe working conditions.
