Job summary

Zizwe in Rustenburg, North West, is seeking a Mining Manager to lead day-to-day mine operations and optimize ore extraction. You will ensure MHSA compliance and drive disciplined, safe and efficient production with clear scheduling for pit and plant activities.

The ideal candidate holds MHSA in Mining Engineering, Mine Managers Certificate, and Opencast Blasting Ticket, with extensive opencast experience and proven leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• MHSA Degree in Mining Engineering required.
• Mine Managers Certificate of Competency required.
• Opencast Blasting Ticket required.
• Eight years’ experience in opencast mining required.
• Own transport with a valid driver’s license required.
• Medical assessment will be required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day management and operations of the mine within area of responsibility.
• Lead the team in cost-effective optimization and ore extraction.
• Ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act.
• Compile monthly progressive plans.
• Produce weekly production schedules for pit and plant.
• Provide leadership, communication and management.
• Oversee pit design and scheduling activities.
• Maintain discipline and ensure customer satisfaction.

• Eight (8) Years’ experience in the Opencast mining industry
• Own transport with a valid driver’s license is a requirement
• The successful candidate will be required to go for a medical assessment

GENERAL DUTIES:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the mine within your area of responsibility
• Lead the team in the cost-effective optimization and extraction of the ore
• Ensure compliance in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act
• Compiling monthly progressive plans
• Weekly production schedules of the pit and plant
• Responsible for leadership, communication and management
• Responsible for the pit design and scheduling activities
• Ensure discipline is maintained
• Ensure customer satisfaction
