Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Mine Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team in Benoni, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety of mining equipment. You will manage technicians, coordinate maintenance activities, and drive asset utilization.

The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical or electrical engineering background in mining, with leadership and problem-solving abilities to minimize downtime and maximize production.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or diploma in mechanical/electrical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in maintenance supervision within mining/heavy industrial.
• Experience with heavy mining equipment and CMMS/diagnostic tools.
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring efficient workflow and task completion.
• Plan, schedule, and execute preventative and corrective maintenance for mining machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, implementing effective repair solutions.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement, ensuring availability of critical components.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in maintenance activities.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
