Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Geologist to join its exploration team based in Klerksdorp. The role focuses on geological mapping, data interpretation, and guiding exploration drilling programs to identify mineral resource opportunities.

The ideal candidate holds a BSc Honours or MSc in Geology with 5+ years in mineral exploration, and strong experience in Leapfrog/Micromine and GIS, core logging, and geochemical sampling.

Qualifications

• BSc Honours or MSc in Geology or a related geoscience discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral exploration, preferably in gold or base metals.
• Proficiency in GIS software and geological modeling packages (e.g., Leapfrog, Micromine).
• Experience with core logging, geochemical sampling, and drill program management.
• Strong understanding of ore deposit types and exploration techniques relevant to the region.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geological mapping and structural analysis of exploration targets.
