Job summary

Decision Inc. is seeking a strong Business Central Solution Architect to lead end-to-end design and delivery of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central projects within our Business Applications team in Johannesburg.

You will translate client requirements into scalable, integrated BC solutions, guide functional and technical teams, and ensure successful implementations, upgrades and ongoing support. Microsoft MB-800 certification and deep BC knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of ERP consulting experience, with 3–4 years in BC implementations.
• Experience across multiple full-cycle Business Central implementations.
• MB-800 certification required.

We are looking for a strong Business Central Solution Architect to join our Business Applications team within Decision Inc. The Business Central Solution Architect will provide functional and solution architecture expertise, taking ownership of the end-to-end design and delivery of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central projects. You will work closely with clients to understand their business requirements, translate these into scalable and supportable solutions, and provide guidance to functional and technical teams. Strong consulting, communication and relationship-building skills are essential, together with a strong understanding of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.

What Will You Do?

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Solution Design & Consulting

• Lead discovery and requirements workshops with clients.
• Understand and document end-to-end business processes and requirements.
• Design scalable, supportable and integrated Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solutions.
• Conduct gap/fit analysis and determine whether requirements can be addressed through standard functionality, configuration, extensions, integrations or process changes.
• Apply a standard-first approach and challenge unnecessary customisation.
• Create and maintain solution blueprints, functional designs and architectural documentation.
• Identify solution risks, dependencies and downstream impacts.

Implementation & Delivery

• Provide functional and solution architecture leadership throughout Business Central implementations.
• Provide direction to functional consultants and developers.
• Work with technical teams to design, test and implement integrations, extensions and customisations.
• Oversee data migration, security, testing and deployment activities.
• Support project quality assurance and go-live readiness.
• Assist with cutover, go-live and post-implementation activities.
• Support the Project Manager with scope, estimates, risks and change-control decisions.

Client & Sales Support

• Work with the sales team to understand prospective clients' business strategies, processes and desired outcomes.
• Provide solution input for RFI, RFP and RFQ responses.
• Present tailored solution demonstrations and recommendations.
• Assist with statements of work, scoping and solution estimates.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Clearly communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders and business requirements to technical teams.

Ongoing Support & Upgrades

• Provide solution architecture support to existing Business Central clients.
• Participate in strategic "way forward" discussions and solution improvement initiatives.
• Provide guidance on Business Central upgrades and new releases.
• Assess upgrade and architectural implications of solution changes.
• Assist with support, troubleshooting and resolution of complex solution issues.

Product Knowledge & Leadership

• Maintain strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and upcoming releases.
• Maintain relevant Microsoft certifications and product knowledge.
• Investigate and recommend appropriate Microsoft and third-party technologies.
• Mentor functional consultants and other team members as required.
• Continually contribute to and improve Decision Inc. implementation standards, methodologies and best practices.

Administration

• Maintain accurate project and client documentation.
• Record client interactions and services rendered using internal systems and processes.
• Meet productivity, efficiency and billable-hour requirements.
• Ensure project and customer documentation remains accurate and up to date.

Who Do You Need to Be?

• Relevant Degree or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant ERP consulting experience, with at least 3–4 years of substantial Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation experience.
• Experience across multiple full-cycle Business Central implementations.
• Experience leading implementations or major functional workstreams.
• Strong knowledge across Business Central Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory and related business processes.
• Experience with data migration, integrations, testing, security and go-live activities.
• Strong understanding of Business Central SaaS, extensions, APIs and integration concepts.
• Knowledge of Power Platform and Azure integration is advantageous.
• Microsoft MB-800 certification required.
• Strong consulting, problem-solving and analytical skills.
