Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join its East London team. The role provides direct emotional and practical support to individuals facing mental health challenges and aims to promote recovery and positive well-being.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to develop coping strategies, facilitate group sessions, and help clients access community resources in the East London area.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in mental health, social work, community care, or related field.
• Experience in mental health support or similar community care role is essential.
• Strong communication, empathy and active listening skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct emotional and practical support to clients with mental health conditions.
• Assist clients in developing and implementing personalized recovery plans.
• Facilitate individual and group support sessions focused on coping skills and wellness.
• Monitor clients' well-being and report changes to the clinical team.
• Help clients access community resources and social activities.
• Support daily living skills and promote independence.
• Liaise between clients, families and the clinical team.
• Maintain confidential client records and documentation.
• Ensure a safe, non-judgmental environment for all clients.
• Participate in team meetings, case reviews and ongoing professional development.
