Placements24 is seeking a proactive Media Communications Officer in Soweto, Gauteng. You will manage media relations, draft press materials, coordinate media events, and monitor coverage to support broader communication strategies.

The ideal candidate has a background in media relations, excellent writing skills, and a passion for storytelling, with 1–3 years of related experience and the ability to work full-time from our Soweto office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, PR, Journalism or related field.
• 1–3 years experience in media relations, PR or communications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing media relations strategies.
• Write, edit, and distribute press releases and advisories.
• Build and maintain relationships with local and national media contacts.
• Monitor coverage and compile reports on placements and sentiment.
• Support planning and execution of media events and press conferences.
