Placements24 is seeking a proactive Media Communications Officer to join our team in George, Western Cape. You will manage day-to-day media relations, draft press materials, monitor coverage and support broader communication strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications fields is required.
• 1-3 years of experience in media relations, communications or journalism.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and media monitoring tools.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing media relations strategies.
• Draft press releases, statements and other media materials.
• Monitor media coverage across platforms and report findings.
• Respond to media inquiries and arrange interviews with company reps.
• Maintain media contact lists and databases.
• Support planning and execution of media events and press conferences.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather information for materials.
• Ensure materials are accurate and brand-aligned.
• Assist in managing the company's social media presence.
