Placements24 is seeking an energetic Sports Media Coordinator to join our communications team in Soweto. You will manage media relations, draft press materials, coordinate interviews, and monitor coverage to support our public relations efforts.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field, 1–2 years in media relations (preferably in sports), excellent writing and organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in media relations, communications, or public relations, preferably in sports.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Familiarity with media monitoring tools and techniques.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in Soweto.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and execution of media relations strategies.
• Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communication materials.
• Coordinate media interviews, press conferences, and other media events.
• Manage and update media contact lists and databases.
• Monitor media coverage and compile reports on media activity.
• Support social media content creation and community engagement efforts.
