Placements24 is hiring a Mechanical Test Engineer for our client in Upington, Northern Cape. The role focuses on designing, setting up, and conducting mechanical tests to ensure product quality and reliability.

You will analyze test data, prepare reports, and troubleshoot equipment while collaborating with design engineers to meet testing objectives. A hybrid work setup and strong technical foundation are key for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in mechanical testing or related role.
• Proficiency with mechanical testing equipment and data acquisition systems.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles and material properties.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute mechanical test plans per project requirements.
• Set up and operate mechanical testing equipment including UTM and environmental chambers.
• Monitor, analyze, and report test data with comprehensive documentation.
• Troubleshoot test equipment, procedures, and product performance.
• Collaborate with design engineers to align testing with specifications.
• Ensure calibration and maintenance of test equipment for accuracy.
• Improve test methodologies and equipment as needed.
• Maintain detailed records of all testing activities and observations.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe laboratory environment.
