Job summary

Placements24 in Stellenbosch is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer to join the product development team. You will design, develop, and execute test procedures for complex electrical components and systems in a hands-on lab environment, with some remote analysis.

The role blends on-site testing with hybrid work, requires 3–5 years of testing experience, and collaboration with design engineers to improve reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in electrical testing and validation.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
• Experience with automated test systems and programming (Python, LabVIEW).
• Solid understanding of analog and digital circuits under varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and procedures for electrical hardware and systems.
• Design and build test fixtures and equipment required for electrical testing.
• Conduct functional, performance, and environmental testing of electrical components and assemblies.
• Analyze test data, identify root causes of failures, and provide detailed reports with recommendations.
• Collaborate with design engineers to resolve test failures and improve product design.
• Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
