Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Systems Designer to join their engineering team in Nelspruit. You will translate concepts into detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools, and ensure designs meet manufacturing standards.

The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering and proven experience in designing mechanical systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on diverse projects in Nelspruit and contribute to prototype builds and testing.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience as Mechanical Designer or Drafter.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems, sub-systems, and components from concept to production-ready drawings.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software.
• Perform preliminary stress analysis and material selection to ensure design feasibility.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to optimize for production.
• Document designs with specifications, tolerances, and BOMs.
• Support prototype builds and testing, troubleshoot design issues.
