Job summary

Mecad Systems in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead complex engineering projects from planning through to completion. You will develop schedules, budgets and resource plans while coordinating engineering, procurement, manufacturing and quality teams.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in mechanical engineering and 5+ years of project management experience, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders and deliver on time.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/BSc/BTech) or equivalent.
• 5+ years' experience in mechanical engineering and/or project management.
• Experience managing engineering, manufacturing or industrial projects.
• Strong project planning, budgeting and coordination skills.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical engineering.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office; MS Project advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical engineering projects from planning through completion.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets and resources.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, manufacturing and quality teams.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Review drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Monitor costs, quality, scope and deadlines.
• Identify risks and changes, report progress and handover.
