Placements24 in Durban is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead renewable energy projects from concept to commissioning. You will manage mechanical design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and testing, coordinating across internal teams, suppliers, and clients for safe, efficient systems.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, at least five years in mechanical engineering with project management, and proficiency with CAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' mechanical engineering experience with project management.
• Experience in renewable energy (solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, energy storage) is a plus.
• Proficient in CAD software for design and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials and energy infrastructure manufacturing processes.

Responsabilités

• Lead mechanical engineering for renewable energy projects from start to finish.
• Create plans, schedules and budgets; coordinate with teams and stakeholders.
• Design, specify and procure mechanical components and systems.
• Perform feasibility studies and site assessments.
• Oversee installation, commissioning and testing of mechanical systems.
• Prepare technical reports and project documentation.
