Placements24 is seeking a skilled Machine Maintenance Fitter to join our East London-based industrial operations team. The role focuses on installation, repair, and routine maintenance of mechanical equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset life.

The ideal candidate will have a trade qualification and strong ability to read mechanical drawings, diagnose faults, and work with precision tools in a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Machine Maintenance Fitter or similar mechanical role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and workshop equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Good problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to fault diagnosis.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and test new machinery according to specifications.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and lubrication of mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults in machinery, including gears, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Dismantle, clean, and reassemble machinery parts as needed.
• Fabricate or modify parts using workshop tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.

About the Role
