Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our client's manufacturing operations in Stellenbosch. This hands-on role involves assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing complex machinery to keep production running smoothly and downtime to a minimum.

The ideal candidate is trade-tested, proficient at reading engineering drawings, and capable of working well in a team in a fast-paced Western Cape environment with exposure to modern manufacturing technologies.

Qualifications

• Qualified Mechanical Fitter or trade tested artisan.
• Demonstrated experience in assembling and maintaining industrial machinery.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of power transmission systems and lubrication techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and commission new manufacturing machinery and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and adjustments on production machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in industrial equipment (conveyors, motors, pumps).
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and service manuals.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to ensure longevity and performance.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards during all fitting operations.
