Job summary

Exceed Human Resource Consultants is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for Stellenbosch. You will design and develop mechanical components and assemblies, create detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings, and perform structural, thermal and vibration analyses.

You will support environmental qualification testing, analyse test data, and collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers to improve cost, quality, and producibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/master level engineering degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Aerospace Engineering.
• 2+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience with CAD modelling and engineering drawings.
• Strong knowledge of structural (FEA) and/or thermal analysis.
• Experience with CAD and FEA tools such as SolidWorks, RhinoCAD, Solid Edge, ANSYS or Abaqus.
• Aerospace, defence or high-reliability industry experience advantageous.
• RF/antenna systems and environmental testing experience advantageous.
• Knowledge of harsh-environment design and ECSS or MIL-STD standards beneficial.
• Precision manufacturing, DFMA and product lifecycle experience advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and report-writing skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, teamwork and planning skills.
• South African citizenship or valid work permit.
