Job summary

Danté Personnel Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Cape Town to lead engineering design, project management and manufacturing activities for an offshore engineering client. You will liaise with clients and suppliers, provide technical guidance, and supervise team members.

The role requires strong problem-solving skills, hands-on fabrication knowledge and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment. A relevant engineering degree and driver’s license are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc or BEng)
• 3 years' experience in a similar environment
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office
• Experience with CAD/FEA and calculation software; SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation, Mathcad or MATLAB
• Knowledge of fabrication, boilermaking, welding, and precision machining
• Valid driver's license and own transport

Our client in the Offshore Engineering industry is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to manage mechanical engineering, design, project management and manufacturing activities. The role requires strong technical knowledge, practical problem-solving skills and the ability to liaise with clients and suppliers, provide technical guidance, work independently and supervise personnel.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering
• 3 years' experience within a similar environment is non negotiable
• Advance knowledge of MS Office is required
• Proficiency in 3D CAD, FEA and engineering calculation software, particularly SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation, Mathcad or MATLAB, would be advantageous
• Solid knowledge of fabrication, boilermaking, welding, and precision machining processes
• Valid drivers license and own transport
