WhatJobs Direct is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer in Rustenburg to design, develop, and implement advanced manufacturing machinery and automation solutions. You will work with a team of engineers to move concepts to production with a focus on efficiency, reliability, and safety.

The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical foundation, hands-on CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor), and the ability to collaborate with electrical and controls engineers within a hybrid work

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in mechanical design for industrial machinery.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor).
• Understanding of power transmission, pneumatics, hydraulics.

Responsabilidades

• Design and develop custom manufacturing machinery, assembly fixtures, and material handling systems.
• Utilize CAD software to create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Perform engineering calculations for stress, strain, kinematics, and dynamics to ensure design integrity.
• Collaborate with electrical and controls engineers to integrate mechanical systems with automation components.
• Participate in fabrication, assembly, and testing phases of new equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues during commissioning and ongoing operation.
• Research and recommend new technologies and materials to enhance equipment performance.
• Contribute to Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
• Support the continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes through equipment upgrades and modifications.
