Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a hybrid role in Benoni. You will drive mechanical design for automated machinery, from concept to detailed design, prototyping and testing, collaborating with electrical and controls teams to ensure integrated systems.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 3–5 years of experience, proficiency in SolidWorks, Inventor or CATIA, and experience with FEA/CFD CAE tools, plus strong problem solving in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years in mechanical design for machinery or automation.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA).
• Experience with CAE tools for FEA and CFD analysis.
• Knowledge of machining, fabrication, and assembly processes.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a hybrid setup.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for automated machinery.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and BOMs.
• Perform stress, thermal, and dynamic analyses to validate designs.
• Collaborate with controls, electrical, and software engineers.
• Support prototyping, testing, and production units.
• Troubleshoot design issues and implement effective solutions.
