Job summary

Eskort is seeking an experienced store manager to oversee daily operations in a busy retail meat environment. The role focuses on stock control, merchandising, compliance with HACCP standards, and strong team leadership to drive performance.

You will manage procurement, staffing, training, and customer service to ensure high store standards and profitability while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is required.
• Diploma or degree in Retail or Business or related qualification is advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in retail, ideally in a managerial or leadership level.

Responsibilities

• Stock management including ordering, deliveries, and stock control.
• Housekeeping to HACCP standards across the store.
• Employee recruitment, onboarding and induction, training and development, and performance management.
• Store organisation and merchandising, including displays and promotions.
• Cash management and minimising cash losses; safe handling and security.
• Customer service excellence and handling complaints to improve satisfaction and loyalty.
• System administration: staff clockings, Meat Matrix maintenance, CCTV, and security arrangements.
