Job summary

Takealot.com, South Africa's leading online retailer, invites applications for a Health and Safety intern to join our team in Cape Town with placements at DC1 and DC3. This 18-month contract offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.

You will collect and analyse data, prepare dashboards, and support SOP development while collaborating with Operations, Supply Chain, IT, Facilities, and Health & Safety teams. A qualifying NCV/N6 in Health and Safety is required.

Qualifications

• Computer literacy, strong attention to detail, and good written/verbal communication are required.
• Time management and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential for reporting.
• Data interpretation and presentation skills are expected.
• Understanding of socioeconomic and public policy issues is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyse, interpret, and present operational data to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering and operational projects in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.
• Prepare clear reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, IT, Facilities, and Health & Safety.
• Support the development, review, and maintenance of SOPs and process documentation.
• Monitor operational performance against KPIs and assist in identifying improvements and corrective actions.
• Participate in problem-solving initiatives by identifying root causes and proposing practical solutions.
