Job summary

DP World South Africa is seeking a Marine Logistics Coordinator to manage end-to-end cargo flow at the Port Elizabeth terminal. You will coordinate vessel schedules, oversee cargo handling, and ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, working closely with shipping lines, customs authorities, and internal teams.

The role requires a minimum of five years in marine/port logistics, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and proficiency with logistics software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum five years’ experience in logistics coordination in a marine/port environment.
• Experience with container terminals, bulk cargo handling, or intermodal transport is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of maritime logistics, port operations, and international shipping regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in logistics management software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate vessel arrival and departure schedules to maximize berth utilization.
• Manage cargo documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with customs and maritime regulations.
• Monitor cargo handling processes to meet performance KPIs.
• Liaise with shipping agents, freight forwarders, and terminal operators to resolve issues promptly.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce dwell time and enhance operational efficiency.
• Prepare daily and weekly operational reports for senior management.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental standards throughout all marine logistics activities.
