Placements24 is seeking a highly organized Logistics Coordinator for its Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape operations. You will manage domestic and international freight, liaise with clients and carriers, and ensure precise documentation and compliance across air, sea, and land modes.

The role demands 3+ years in freight forwarding or logistics coordination, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency with logistics software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or International Trade is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics coordination, or a similar role.
• Proven experience with different modes of transport (air, sea, road).
• Familiarity with customs procedures and international trade documentation.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in using logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• Customer-centric approach with a problem-solving attitude.
• Experience working within the Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape logistics landscape is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage domestic and international freight shipments via air, sea, and land.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
• Track shipment progress and provide timely updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Liaise with airlines, shipping lines, trucking companies, and customs brokers to ensure efficient transit.
• Negotiate rates with carriers and service providers to optimize costs.
• Resolve any logistical issues or disruptions that may arise during transit.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all shipments and related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and customs procedures.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and overseas partners.
• Identify opportunities to improve service levels and operational efficiency.
