Executive Sales Representative – Marine Engineering

An exciting opportunity has become available within a well-established marine engineering environment for a dynamic and driven Executive Sales Representative. This is a primarily office-based role focused on client engagement, proposal development, and growing business opportunities across South Africa and Africa. Unlike traditional external sales roles, this position is more administrative and relationship-driven, involving telephonic sales, proposal preparation, and client support.

On-site, some business travelling (to other parts of SA and to other African countries) may be required from time to time

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Generate new business opportunities and grow the company’s footprint across Africa.
• Conduct telephonic sales, client follow-ups, and email correspondence.
• Prepare professional proposals, quotations, and presentations.
• Promote and demonstrate marine engineering products and services to clients.
• Coordinate with internal departments including logistics, finance, marketing, and technical teams.
• Handle customer queries, complaints, and after-sales support.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and potential growth opportunities.
• Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and industry-related events when required.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Proven sales and business development experience.
• Experience in or exposure to the marine / boating industry
• Applicants with personal interest and hands‑on boating knowledge, boat ownership, or strong exposure to the marine environment are encouraged to apply
• Strong CRM, proposal writing, and presentation skills.
• Advanced MS Excel skills are essential (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally within South Africa and Africa.
