Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as Workshop/Production/Works Manager in vehicle body or heavy structural steel manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret structural, mechanical and hydraulic drawings.
• Hands-on knowledge of cutting, bending and welding processes (MIG/flux-cored).
• Experience with chassis integration, tipping mechanisms and tanker systems is essential.
• Strong mechanical problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
• Proven experience leading workshop teams and delivering results.

Job description

A well-established company specialising in commercial vehicle body manufacturing and heavy structural steel fabrication is seeking an experienced and hands-on Workshop / Manufacturing Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Located: Pretoria North

Salary : R35 000 CTC

Minimum requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Workshop Manager, Production Manager or Works Manager within commercial vehicle body building or heavy structural steel manufacturing
• Strong ability to read and interpret structural, mechanical and hydraulic drawings
• In-depth practical knowledge of cutting, bending and welding processes, including MIG/flux-cored welding
• Experience with chassis integration, tipping mechanisms and tanker systems will be essential
• Strong mechanical problem-solving and diagnostic abilities
• Proven experience managing and leading workshop teams
• Hands-on leadership approach with strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
• Relevant Trade Test (Boilermaker / Plater / Toolmaker) or tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering / Production Management will be advantageous
• Valid driver's licence
