Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join its Stellenbosch operations. The role emphasizes proactive maintenance, quick troubleshooting, and reliable operation of plant machinery.

You will read technical schematics, diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, and work to minimize downtime while adhering to safety standards. The ideal candidate has a trade certificate and at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, with PLC exposure being a plus.

Qualifications

• Completed Trade Test or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Strong proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical systems (PLC experience a plus).
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations for industrial maintenance.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to work shifts and be on standby as required.
• Experience in Stellenbosch/Western Cape is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on production machinery to minimize downtime.
