Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our client’s production facility in Klerksdorp. You will maintain and repair a wide range of industrial machinery to keep downtime to a minimum and ensure smooth manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate has a trade qualification in mechanical or electrical maintenance, at least 3 years of experience, and the ability to read blueprints and troubleshoot PLC-based systems.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join their production facility in Klerksdorp . You will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of a wide range of industrial machinery and equipment. This hands-on role is critical to minimizing downtime and ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety. You will work as part of a dedicated maintenance team, contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of the plant. This is an essential on-site role.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system failures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently to minimize production interruption.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.

Requirements

• Trade qualification or certification in Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing a variety of industrial machinery , including pumps, motors, conveyors, and control systems.
• Knowledge of PLC systems and diagnostic tools is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and lockout/tagout protocols.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
