Job summary

Zutari, a well-established engineering firm, seeks a Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal functioning, safety and upkeep of building systems and equipment. You will perform routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues and carry out repairs to maintain a safe, efficient and compliant environment for staff and visitors.

The role requires basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC work; record-keeping; adherence to OHS regulations; and driving as needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year maintenance experience.
• Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC systems.
• Must be able to safely and effectively use hand and power tools.
• Valid driver's license - essential.

Responsibilities

Role responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning, safety, and unkeep of all building structures, systemes and equipment. This role involoves performing routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs to maintain a safe, efficient and compliant environment for employees and visitors.

General maintenance and repair:

• Performa wide range of maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing and electrical repairs, carpentry tasks (e.g. installing shelves, repairing doors) and painting.
• Ensuring timely resolution of maintenance issues to minimise downtime and disruption.

Preventative Maintenance:

• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment to reduce the risk of breakdown and extend asset life.
• Maintain accurate records of all preventative maintenance activities

Inspections and troubleshooting:

• conduct routine inspections of facilities, equipment and systems to identify potential issues early.
• Diagnose and resolve problems promptly, escalating complex issues when necessary

Work order management:

• Respond to maintenance requests and complete workorders within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA's)
• Ensure all documentation and records are accurately maintained to ensure and filed correctly.

Equipment and appliance repair:

• Repair or replace malfunctioning equipment and appliances to ensure operational efficiency.

Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to all Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) regulations and building codes.
• Conduct risk assessment's for tasks and report hazards immediately.

Administration and Reporting:

• Upload OHS documentation to the shared drive and follow up on outstanding checklists
• Complete and submit daily, weekly, and monthly inspection checklists to the Helpdesk Coordinator.
• Record daily occupancy counts ad maintain accurate administration records.

Ad Hoc:

• Driving would be ad- hoc responsibility on an 'as and when needed basis, limited to no more than 40% of the incumbent's time.
• Any other responsibilities as required by the Facilities Manager
• Valid driver's license - essential
• 1 year maintenance experience
• Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC systems
• must be able to safely and effectively use a variety of hand and power tools.
