Job summary

Zutari, a multinational buildings, infrastructure engineering and advisory firm, seeks an Asset Management Systems Engineer with a Civil Engineering background to join the asset management consulting team in South Africa. You will grow your engineering, IT, AI and software development skills while delivering planning, analytics and software solutions for clients facing ageing infrastructure.

Qualifications

• BEng/BSc/BTech in Civil Engineering required.
• Evidence of progression towards professional registration would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of ERP systems would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of GIS, MS Access, SQL/Server, Claude.AI and ChatGPT applications and software development is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Asset management consulting: Support clients with developing and implementing best practice software and AI applications that enhances our client’s asset management capability.
• Data analytics: Work with large asset data to conduct infrastructure lifecycle analysis, predictive modelling, and investment optimisation.
• Report writing: Prepare plans, document analytical frameworks, outcomes reports, manuals, and project documentation.
• Presentations: Help prepare client presentations and participate in client workshops and interactions.
• Systems solutions: Conduct business analysis with our clients to determine user needs, document needs and scope functional solutions. Assist in developing client solutions, integrations between systems and dashboards.
• Project management: Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met and deliverables are achieved.
• Travel: The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel and to spend time away from the office, in South Africa and Africa, for time periods of a few days to weeks on an ad hoc basis.
• Client engagement: Client consulting, presentations, training and support with change management at Zutari’s clients.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Asset Management Systems Engineer with a background in Civil Engineering who is interested in asset management and computer applications, including software development, artificial intelligence and systems management and support. On the job training will be provided in the systems that Zutari provides to our clients, training in software development, close collaboration with Zutari’s Digital team with the expectation that the successful applicant will grow both his engineering skills and his IT, AI and software development skills while working for Zutari.

The candidate will work with our asset management consulting team in developing planning, analytical and software solutions for clients who are grappling with the challenges of ageing infrastructure. The consult will work with the team in driving business process improvements at our clients, conducting business analysis to determine client asset management software functionality needs, and supporting the development and deployment of software and tactical dashboards that assist our clients with manage their ageing infrastructure.

Minimum Requirements

• BEng/BSc/BTech degree in Civil Engineering


• Evidence of progression towards professional registration progress would be advantageous


• Valid SA driver’s license and with own reliable vehicle


• 2-5 years overall experience.


• Knowledge of the following will be advantageous: databases such as GIS, MS Access and SQL/Server Claude.AI and ChatGPT applications, software development experience.


• Problem solving, communication, and technical report writing skills


• Previous asset management experience would be advantageous


• Knowledge of ERP systems would be advantageous
