Job summary

Recruit'd is seeking a hands-on maintenance worker to perform general maintenance and repairs at a guest house in KwaZulu-Natal. The role requires practical skills, independence, and reliability to keep rooms and facilities in good condition.

Experience in property maintenance and basic repairs is essential. Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting and handyman tasks is advantageous; a valid driver’s license is required to access different areas of the property.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repairs at the guest house.
• Maintain gardens and outdoor areas.
• Identify and address issues before they escalate.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, painting and handyman tasks.
• Keep rooms and common areas in good working order.
• Monitor furniture, fixtures and property infrastructure.
• Coordinate with external contractors when needed.
• Assist with upkeep and other maintenance duties.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous experience in general maintenance, property maintenance or a similar hands-on role.
• Good practical skills and the ability to handle basic repairs.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical maintenance, painting and general handyman work will be advantageous.

• Reliable, trustworthy and responsible.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's licence.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct general maintenance and repairs throughout the guest house.
• Maintain the gardens, outdoor areas and surrounding property.
• Identify and attend to maintenance issues before they become bigger problems.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, painting and handyman duties.
• Ensure that rooms, common areas and facilities are kept in good working order.
• Monitor the condition of furniture, fixtures, equipment and property infrastructure.
• Coordinate external contractors when specialised repairs are required.
• Assist with general property upkeep and other maintenance-related duties as required.
• Ensure that the property is safe, neat and presentable at all times.
