Job summary

IntelliStaff in Stellenbosch is seeking a hardworking Maintenance Handyman for a luxury hospitality portfolio to ensure buildings, facilities, equipment, and outdoor areas are well maintained.

The ideal candidate is practical, hands-on and solutions-driven, with experience across general repairs, swimming pool maintenance, basic electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and fixtures. Ability to work independently and in a team is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in general maintenance and handyman duties.
• Practical experience in basic electrical work, plumbing, and general repairs.
• Experience with swimming pool maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to repair kitchen fixtures, fittings, and everyday items.
• Knowledge of safe working procedures when using hand tools and electrical equipment.
• Hospitality or property maintenance experience is advantageous.
• Must be hardworking, reliable, organised, and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and servicing of tools, equipment, and facilities.
• Carry out general handyman duties including basic electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and minor building repairs.
• Maintain and repair swimming pools.
• Attend to kitchen maintenance such as cupboards, taps, hinges, and fixtures.
• Fix everyday items like brooms and handles.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests to ensure smooth operation.
• Identify and troubleshoot maintenance problems and arrange specialist help when needed.
• Perform general building and property maintenance for a safe, clean environment.

• The ideal candidate must be practical, hands-on, and solution-driven, with the ability to carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks, from general repairs and swimming pool maintenance to basic electrical work and fixing everyday items. Attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team are essential.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and servicing of tools, equipment, and facilities.
• Carry out general handyman duties, including basic electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and minor building repairs.
• Maintain and repair swimming pools, including identifying and addressing minor maintenance issues.
• Attend to kitchen maintenance, including repairing cupboards, drawers, handles, taps, hinges, and other fixtures.
• Fix everyday items, including small household and maintenance items such as brooms, handles, and other basic equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests to ensure the smooth operation of the property.
• Identify and troubleshoot maintenance problems and arrange specialist assistance when necessary.
• Perform general building and property maintenance to maintain a safe, clean, and presentable environment.
• Inspect tools and equipment regularly to ensure they are safe and in good working order.

Experience and Requirements
