Craven Cottage CC in Sandton, Gauteng is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our hotel operations. You will perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, with duties spanning plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical and facility maintenance tasks.

You must have a recognised maintenance qualification and 1–2 years of hotel maintenance experience, with strong English communication and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Recognised maintenance-related qualification.
• 1–2 years’ maintenance experience in hotel environment.
• General maintenance experience including plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical repairs.
• Knowledge of electrical fixtures and safety requirements.
• Strong English communication and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to plan, multitask and work in a team or independently.

Duties:

• Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel.
• Carry out plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical and facility maintenance tasks as required.
• Repair plumbing fixtures and fittings.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks allocated by the Maintenance Manager.
• Respond to maintenance requests and complete allocated repairs promptly and efficiently.
• Use appropriate tools, materials and safe working methods when performing maintenance tasks.
• Follow the hotel’s Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
• Keep workshops and maintenance areas clean, tidy and organised.
• Assist with other maintenance duties according to operational requirements.

Requirements:

• Recognised maintenance-related qualification.
• At least 1–2 years’ maintenance experience within a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Proven general maintenance experience, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical repairs.
• Good knowledge of electrical fixtures, fittings and their maintenance.
• Knowledge of relevant tools, materials and health and safety requirements.
• Strong English communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good planning, organisational and multitasking skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a reliable work ethic.
• Professional appearance and a positive, friendly and service-oriented attitude.
• Physically able to perform manual maintenance tasks.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays according to operational requirements.
