Saint-Gobain Africa is looking for a Maintenance Planner with a Diploma or BTech in Mechanical Engineering. The role centers on building and migrating maintenance plans into SAP PM, coordinating weekly planning meetings, and ensuring prepared work orders and parts availability.
The ideal candidate has SAP PM and MS Projects experience with at least one year in a manufacturing or plant setting. The position focuses on maximizing reliability and minimizing downtime through structured planning.
The ideal candidate must have a completed Matric and possess a minimum Diploma or Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering. SAP experience and MS Projects experience would be an advantage. Must have at least one-year relevant experience within manufacturing or a plant environment.
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing, implementing and continuously improving the plant maintenance planning and scheduling system using SAP PM. The role ensures that all maintenance work is properly planned, resourced, scheduled and executed in a controlled manner to maximize plant reliability, reduce breakdowns and optimize engineering productivity. The role will lead the transition from Excel-based planning to a fully structured SAP PM maintenance planning system, aligned with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles. The planner will be responsible for building high-quality job plans, managing the maintenance backlog, coordinating shutdown maintenance and ensuring that maintenance work is executed safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to production.
