Job summary

Saint-Gobain Africa is looking for a Maintenance Planner with a Diploma or BTech in Mechanical Engineering. The role centers on building and migrating maintenance plans into SAP PM, coordinating weekly planning meetings, and ensuring prepared work orders and parts availability.

The ideal candidate has SAP PM and MS Projects experience with at least one year in a manufacturing or plant setting. The position focuses on maximizing reliability and minimizing downtime through structured planning.

Qualifications

• Matric completion required.
• Diploma or Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• SAP PM experience is advantageous.
• MS Projects experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed maintenance job plans.
• Create and maintain standard maintenance task lists in SAP PM.
• Develop preventive maintenance plans and strategies.
• Build high quality job packs for execution teams.
• Lead migration from Excel to SAP PM for maintenance planning.
• Coordinate weekly maintenance planning and scheduling meetings.
• Ensure work orders are properly planned before scheduling.
• Develop weekly production-aligned schedules.
• Manage maintenance backlog and prioritization.
• Plan shutdown maintenance activities and develop shutdown scopes.
• Ensure parts, labor and contractors are prepared in advance.
• Track shutdown performance against plan.
• Coordinate with stores for spare parts availability.
• Improve productivity through structured planning.
• Provide clear job instructions and job packs to technicians.
