HotelJobs in Hoedspruit is seeking a Maintenance Manager for a luxury lodge in the Hoedspruit region. The role covers overall lodge maintenance, facilities, and landscaping, with a focus on keeping buildings and equipment in top condition.

You will oversee a maintenance team, manage stock, ensure budgets, and uphold HACCP standards in kitchens and bars, while delivering guest satisfaction and proactive upkeep.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is essential.
• 2-3 years’ experience as a Maintenance Supervisor required.
• Previous lodge experience preferred.
• Knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
• Basic vehicle service and road maintenance experience.
• Solar systems experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of facilities machines and equipment.
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail, initiative & interpersonal skills.
• Presentable, well-spoken & professional individual.
• Understanding of electrical, plumbing & HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of lodge, business area and facilities.
• Control maintenance stock and manage the maintenance expense budget.
• Ensure HACCP principles in kitchens, bars and other food production areas.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with company standards.
• Implement a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Program.
• Communicate with guests and conduct regular satisfaction checks and provide feedback.
• Manage the maintenance team according to relevant laws and procedures.
• Perform occasional other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Description

• Responsible for the overall Maintenance of lodge, business Area, and all other facilities, including the upkeep of buildings, fixtures, furniture and equipment, landscaping and gardens, and recreational facilities.
• Ensure effective stock control procedures and methods are enforced and that the maintenance expense budget is achieved.
• Ensure compliance to HACCAP principles in the general upkeep of the Kitchens, Bars, and other food production areas.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with company standards.
• Ensure a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Program is implemented and that all essential equipment are serviced and maintained in a manner which prolongs the lifespan of all equipment.
• Communicates with guests and conducts regular satisfaction checks and provide feedback.
• Responsible for managing the maintenance team according to relevant laws and procedures.
• Perform occasional other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
