Trending Talent Solutions seeks a Maintenance Technician to service and repair mechanical, civil and electrical farming equipment across poultry facilities. Role involves outdoor maintenance tasks within farm perimeters and adherence to maintenance plans and schedules.

Requirements include Grade 12, N3 advantage, Code 8 license and 3 years in electrical/mechanical environments, with poultry experience as a plus. On-site work in Mpumalanga South Africa.

Qualifications

• Minimum grade 12 or equivalent education.
• Technical Senior Certificate or similar technical qualification (N3) advantage.
• Drivers license Code 8.
• (Electrical Modules M0-4) advantage.

Responsabilités

• General maintenance and servicing of farm equipment.
• Inspect machinery per supplier manuals and maintenance plans to prevent breakdowns.
• Repair and maintenance of agriculture machinery as per breakdowns.
• Daily inspection of equipment; standby duties and biosecurity measures.
• Maintain biosecurity fencing, electric fencing, gates and related systems.
• Operate culled chicken incinerator and handle disposal safely.

Description du poste

Role Purpose:

Maintaining, Servicing and Repairing of Mechanical, Civil and Electrical Agriculture related machinery and equipment. Executing maintenance and excavation production related tasks on the outside of poultry houses but inside the farm perimeter fences.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum grade 12 or equivalent education
• Technical Senior Certificate or similar technical qualification (N3) advantage.
• Drivers license Code 8
• (Electrical Modules M0-4)

Required Experience:

• 3 years experience in Electrical and Mechanical environment
• Previous experience in poultry environment - advantage

Main Responsibilities:

General Maintenance and servicing of farm equipment

• Inspection of machinery and equipment as per supplier requirements set out in the maintenance manuals (BOP’s)

Maintenance and repair of all Agriculture related machinery and equipment in accordance with the maintenance plan and schedule

• Repair of Agriculture related machinery and equipment per breakdown
• Daily inspection of all agriculture related machinery, equipment and constructions for prevention of breakdowns.
• Perform quarantine and standby duties.
• Biosecurity fencing, electric fencing and gate maintenance & repairs
• Signing off on Maintenance tasks allocated and submit Jobcards.

Agriculture related machinery and equipment

• Standby Generator inspection and engine fault finding (battery & diesel related)
• Water supply and meter integrity inspection & repairs
• Compressors Inspection and leak repairs (BOP)
• Chicken Trolleys
• Disinfection Pump system
• Gas Heater inspection & repairs
• Feeders Line Motor & Gearbox
• Drinker System, water supply and filters
• Louvers, curtains & Winch units
• Fans, Louvers and safety guards
• Lights, Dimmable unit and leveling of lights

Civil Maintenance

• Maintaining and Inspection of water systems and main water supply
• Building maintenance; doors, windows, Locks, showers etc
• Building roofs structure and ceiling and insulation integrity.
• Repair of plumbing units around the farm
• Maintenance and repair of quarantine quarters as per maintenance schedule
• Operating a lawnmower and brush-cutter, spade and garden fork

Electrical Maintenance

• General Electrical repair on poultry house lights & equipment testing per breakdown
• General Electrical maintenance and repair on specified equipment.
• Guided changing of Single and 3 Phase motors

Cull Handling, Incinerator Operation & Maintenance

• Loading and safe handling of culled chicken corpses
• Incineration of culled chicken corpses
• Operating an Incinerator, cleaning and maintenance

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Attention to detail
• Accuracy on all measuring equipment
• Welding, brazing, safe operating of electrical hand tools
• PVC, Galvanized and Compression pipe cutting and jointing.
