Rcpm Industries in South Africa is seeking a Trade-qualified Diesel Mechanic to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mining fleet. You will diagnose faults and repair mechanical and electrical systems, read technical drawings, and ensure safe, reliable operation.

This role emphasizes strict adherence to lock-out/tag-out, accurate record-keeping, and teamwork to meet availability targets. Applicants should have heavy-equipment maintenance experience and knowledge of safety practices.

Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities on the mining fleet to ensure safe, reliable and available equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.


• Conduct repairs in accordance with work orders.


• Complete maintenance job cards and records.


• Identify and report equipment defects.


• Perform inspections and servicing.


• Comply with lock-out/tag-out and safe work procedures.


• Support equipment availability and reliability targets.

Requirements

• Trade-tested Diesel Mechanic, Electrician or Boilermaker.


• Relevant heavy-equipment/mining maintenance experience.


• Knowledge of safe maintenance practices.

Job Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mining equipment and machinery. Diagnose faults and conduct repairs on mechanical or electrical systems within the relevant trade. Inspect, maintain and repair equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and work orders. Use hand tools, power tools and relevant diagnostic equipment. Identify equipment defects and report maintenance requirements. Follow maintenance schedules and procedures. Comply with mine health and safety standards, including isolation and lockout procedures where applicable. Maintain accurate maintenance records and good housekeeping. Demonstrate troubleshooting, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
