This role requires strong leadership, budget oversight, staff development, and strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in housekeeping management within luxury hotel or resort sector.
• Proven track record of leading and developing large teams.
• Extensive knowledge of housekeeping operations, sanitation standards, and inventory management.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and hygiene regulations relevant to the hospitality industry in Mossel Bay, Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain rigorous housekeeping and sanitation standards across all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Manage, train, mentor, and schedule a large team of housekeeping staff, ensuring optimal performance and service quality.
• Oversee inventory control for linens, cleaning supplies, amenities, and equipment, managing budgets effectively.
• Conduct regular quality inspections of all areas to ensure compliance with luxury standards and guest expectations.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including chemical handling and waste disposal protocols.
• Manage guest requests and complaints related to housekeeping services promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as Front Office and Food & Beverage, to ensure seamless guest experiences.
• Implement sustainable housekeeping practices to minimize environmental impact.
• Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs for housekeeping staff.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in luxury hospitality housekeeping.
